Kennedys is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Conflicts Analyst to join our global New Business Risk team, carrying out new business intake processes across the Firm. This is an entry-level junior analyst role, and appropriate training will be provided by the New Business Risk Team and Compliance Counsel.
The role involves providing information, advice and guidance on the professional responsibility and commercial considerations relating to the intake of new business on a global scale. This role will be based in any of our US offices, and is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing, competitive law firm with a diversified global practice.
Team
The Risk & Compliance team at Kennedys acts as an in-house legal department assisting with regulatory and professional conduct enquiries. As part of this, the New Business Risk team specializes in supporting new business intake processes existing across the Firm globally.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting with the launch of Intapp for the Risk & Compliance Department
- Supporting the work of the team in delivering an excellent new business risk process across Kennedys
- Conducting research via internal and external sources
- Providing first-round review of conflicts search results, identifying potential conflicts issues, and providing conflict-of-interest reports to Compliance Counsel, General Counsel and/or requesting Attorneys
- Reviewing conflicts and assisting with the opening of new matters within Intapp and Elite 3E software programs
- Reviewing new matters for compliance with relevant Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules and regulations
- Acting as an internal consultant to the business, providing advice and assistance in relation to conflict of interest and compliance issues
- Determining when it is appropriate and/or necessary to escalate an issue to Compliance Counsel, the General Counsel's Office, or the Head of New Business Risk
Experience and Desired skills
- Previous experience with Intapp and/or Elite 3E in a professional services environment is preferred but not required. Appropriate training will be provided by the New Business Risk Team and Compliance Counsel
- Previous experience with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules and regulations is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven organizational skills with a proactive attitude
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize and multi-task with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Be comfortable providing timely guidance in a busy global organization
- Proficient in the use of Office 365
The annualized salary range for this role is $52,000-$60,000. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
