Kennedys is looking for a Business Development (BD) Research Analyst to join our Business Development team based in Manchester, Birmingham or Sheffield. The successful candidate will work as part of the Marketing Technology and Data sub team, working closely with the Firm Data and Intelligence departments.  

The BD Research Analyst will serve as a data analyst and data owner for Marketing, BD and brand related data (in conjunction with data from other domains) and will support the BD&M team in various projects and initiatives. The focus of the role is on utilizing data and analytics tools to help the BD&M community foster a deeper understanding of trends, challenges and opportunities internally and in the market.

 This role involves leveraging Power BI, AI modelling capabilities, and marketing tools like Marketo, HubSpot, Salesforce, and information from business information services and data enrichment providers to support and enhance marketing strategies.

Team

Kennedys' global Business Development & Marketing team drives profitable revenue growth through a client-centric approach to business development and marketing activity, which enhances our reputation globally.

The global functions are Pursuits, Clients and Markets, Marketing Technology & Data, and Marketing and Communications. The functions work alongside the regional Business Development & Marketing teams in APAC, EMEA, the US and Latin America.

Key responsibilities 

  • Support the development and implementation of data-driven marketing strategies to both drive and support BD&M team goals.
  • Leverage data analytics to measure the impact and success of marketing campaigns, improve client engagement, and drive business growth.
  • Work with managers to translate data into actionable insights that help guide strategy, client and market development, and marketing efforts.
  • Monitor, visualize, and report on client and market sentiment and, in alignment with Kennedys BD&M strategic goals, clearly communicate the position of the Kennedys brand with global, regional and lines of business teams.
  • Analyse differences in client sentiment and markets to help drive growth in key areas of the business.

Required experience 

  • Minimum of three years' experience, with a strong background in marketing data analysis and metrics.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Data Analytics, or related field. Coursework in Marketing, Communications or related field is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills such as data collection, data cleansing, data mining and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with marketing research methods and marketing and communications concepts and practices.
  • Proficiency with data visualization software such as PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL preferred.
  • Familiarity with data exploration and analysis methods using Python or R preferred.
  • Proficiency in web research, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook required.
  • Excellent organizational skills: planning, ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and adhere to schedules.
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to relay data and insights to BD&M and Kennedys stakeholders in a clear and concise manner that compels action.
  • Brings unique perspective to challenge thinking and drive action and willingness to learn.
  • Able to translate and communicate data and insights within context of uncertain or emerging trends and has ability to knit disparate pieces of data together to form a compelling narrative that connects insights to business strategies & outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to move between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
