Role
Kennedys is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate with 1-4 years' experience in insurance or dispute resolution to join our Singapore office. The Insurance, Reinsurance & Cyber team handles a combination of advisory and contentious work (arbitrations) in relation to some of the largest insurance and reinsurance matters in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
The successful candidate will gain experience of advising insurance and reinsurance sector clients on coverage matters (across the range of insurance risks underwritten in the APAC region including, but not limiting to, financial lines, directors and offices, professional indemnity, crime/BBB, cyber policies); be involved in monitoring complex commercial disputes and managing cyber incident responses. The exposure of work also includes advising on subrogated recoveries. The successful candidate will work directly for the Partner in this team and will have regular contact with clients both in Singapore and internationally.
Experience of insurance/reinsurance claims and/or disputes and/or cyber incident response is significantly preferred, but not essential as this team (and Kennedys in general) has a proven track record of training lawyers in this area. The successful Associate or Senior Associate will have sound basic practical problem solving and legal skills and a drive to develop specialist knowledge within the market leading team for Insurance and Reinsurance in the region.

Required Experience
- 1 - 4 years' law firm experience, but we are open to applications from more experienced lawyers with the applicable experience and ambition*
- Qualified in Singapore and/or common law jurisdiction, ideally England & Wales / Australia
- Excellent academics
- Demonstrable research, writing and communication skills
- International arbitration experience preferred
- Advantageous to have insurance experience, ideally coverage, across financial lines and professional indemnity
